STEP 1: DISCLOSURE

Full disclosure of all intentionally added ingredients with no cut off threshold level, and additionally, the disclosure of any residuals present above 0.01%

STEP 2: ASSESSMENT

Formulation assessment against the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (MRSL) (Group B) of Identified Hazardous Chemicals
Formulation assessment against the U.S. EPA Safer Chemical Ingredients List (SCIL) to identify Full Green Circle, Half Green Circle, or Yellow Triangle listed chemicals
Formulation assessment against the GreenScreen® (GS®) List Translator (LT) to identify LT-1, LT-P1, or LT-U listed materials or chemicals

Perform a U.S. EPA Safer Choice Program Polymer screen assessment for any polymer ingredient that is not listed on the ZDHC (Group B) MRSL, U.S. EPA SCIL, or identified as an LT-1 by the GS® List Translator
Perform a GreenScreen® assessment of any CAS# that is not listed on the ZDHC (Group B) MRSL, U.S. EPA SCIL, or identified as an LT-1 by the GS® List Translator
Perform an LT-1 Summary assessment of any CAS# that is identified as an LT-1 by the GS® List Translator

STEP 3: VERDICT

ToxFMD™ NOT ACCEPTABLE   ToxFMD™ ACCEPTABLE
The ToxFMD™ Review has determined:
  • At least one CAS# present in the product formulation is either:
  • Listed on the ZDHC (Group B) MRSL of Hazardous Chemicals
  • A GreenScreen® Benchmark 1 or LT-1 scored chemical
  • Considered "Not Acceptable" under the U.S. EPA Safer Choice Program Polymer Criteria
  • Detailed information on the ingredient indicates it does not fall within the U.S. EPA SCIL classification (e.g., 1,4-dioxane content, EO/PO ratio)
OR
  • The total product formulation contains >10% U.S. EPA SCIL Yellow Triangle and/or Safer Choice Program "Could be Improved" scored ingredients

  • ToxServices provides opportunities for continuous improvement for chemical optimization and the Client addresses chemicals of concern for resubmission to the ToxFMD™ Program
ADDITIONALLY
  • The Client can address chemicals of concern for resubmission to the ToxFMD™ Program
  The ToxFMD™ Review has determined:
  • No CAS# present in the product formulation is:
  • Listed on the ZDHC (Group B) MRSL of Hazardous Chemicals
  • A GreenScreen® Benchmark 1 or LT-1 scored chemical
  • Considered "Not Acceptable" under the U.S. EPA Safer Choice Program Polymer Criteria
ADDITIONALLY
  • The total product formulation contains ≤10% U.S. EPA SCIL Yellow Triangle and/or Safer Choice Program "Could be Improved" scored ingredients

  • ToxServices' ToxFMD™ Certificate allows suppliers to document adherence to ToxServices' ToxFMD™ Criteria without divulging proprietary ingredient information
ADDITIONALLY
  • Any formulation that is ToxFMD™ Acceptable has the potential to meet the requirements of the LEED V4 Building Product Disclosure and Optimization Credit - Material Ingredients Option 1 and Option 2
